3 cool things in tech

1. Foursquare raises money and promptly acquires a Seattle-based startup It may have been awhile since you've heard about the company Foursquare making any big moves. Recently they just raised more funding and subsequently bought a company called Placed, which functions as a location analytics company. Placed was bought by Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc., about two years ago. 2. NFL QB Aaron Rodgers' firm raised money from other stars to play the investing game Aaron Rodgers is officially the co-founder of an investment firm that will focus on the consumer sector. This comes on the heels of other top athletes like Serena Williams, Lebron James, Kobe Bryants, and others getting involved in the world of investing. Other current professional athletes are rumored to have a stake in Rodgers' firm. 3. Uber adds VIP helicopter rides to its arsenal Users that are Platinum or Diamond members of Uber are the only ones that have access to the helicopter rides. The trial of this idea will take place in New York but could eventually move to all cities that have a lot of traffic. A flight from Lower Manhattan to JFK Airport is projected to be around $225, about 3x as expensive as the Uber X cost.

2 rising tech stocks

After struggles in the previous two weeks, the market rebounded in the past week. Many tech stocks were up at least 5% from the previous week. NVIDIA: $135.91 to $145.50 (7.06%) Salesforce: $150.57 to $161.27 (7.11%)
